02 / 06 Who this is for
When work has affected your mental health
- An accepted claim for a psychological injury
- A physical injury that's affecting your mood, sleep or confidence
- Stress, anxiety or trauma after a workplace incident
- Getting ready to return to work, or adjusting to new duties
- Waiting on a claim decision and unsure what to do next
03 / 06 How it works
From claim to recovery
- (1)
Your claim
A claim is lodged with WorkCover Queensland, or with your employer if they're self-insured.
- (2)
Referral and approval
Your GP or case manager refers you, and the insurer approves psychology sessions.
- (3)
Treatment
Evidence-based therapy by telehealth from home, with regular check-ins so you can see your progress.
- (4)
Back to work and life
We work towards your recovery and return-to-work goals, keeping your GP and case manager informed with your consent.
04 / 06 Why experience matters
I know the WorkCover process from the inside.
- i.
Less stress about the paperwork
Eight years in occupational rehabilitation means I know what insurers and case managers need, so the process doesn't get in the way of your recovery.
- ii.
Return to work, at the right pace
Treatment goals connect to your return-to-work plan, so therapy and the claim pull in the same direction.
- iii.
Everyone on the same page
With your consent, I liaise with your GP, case manager and, where it helps, your employer.
05 / 06 For case managers & employers

- Progress reports with standardised scores from every session

- Treatment requests and reports in the formats insurers expect
06 / 06 Common questions
WorkCover questions
Will I have to pay for sessions?
Sessions approved by the insurer are billed directly to them, so there's usually nothing for you to pay (to confirm).
What if my claim hasn't been accepted yet?
Get in touch anyway. We can talk through your options, including Medicare or private sessions in the meantime.
Will my employer know what we talk about?
What you say in sessions stays confidential. Reports to the insurer focus on progress, capacity and return to work, and I'll talk with you about what goes in them.
Can I have sessions from home?
Yes. I'm based in Cairns and all sessions are by secure video, so you can attend from home anywhere in Far North Queensland or the rest of the state, without travelling.
My employer is self-insured. Can I still see you?
Yes. The process is much the same: your employer's claims team approves sessions instead of WorkCover Queensland.
